Abstract

  This study compares Jamia Radio and Radio Amity, two notable community radio stations, to assess their reach and impact. The research uses quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the stations' community engagement and service. The study begins with community radio's historical and theoretical roots, emphasizing its significance in local empowerment and connectedness. An in-depth review of Jamia Radio and Radio Amity covers listener demographics, programme content, community participation, and outreach tactics. The research measures each station's reach based on listenership, geographic coverage, and demographic diversity using surveys and content analysis. A simultaneous impact evaluation examines the stations' community growth, social cohesiveness, and awareness contributions. Results show Jamia Radio and Radio Amity have different methods, revealing their strengths and weaknesses. Critical analysis emphasizes the necessity to adjust community radio efforts to their target audiences' individual requirements. This study enriches community radio efficacy discussions. It lays the groundwork for improving community radio's reach and effect as a catalyst for good change in varied and dynamic communities.
